As I'm working I listen to XM Radio online. I can't work without any music playing. It was the same for homework back in the day. I had to have music or the TV on. Anyway, lately I've been in a Broadway mood and have been listening to the Broadway station all day. I've found great wisdom in some of these songs. One in particular from a musical staged in 1954 "I'd rather wake up alone than have the wrong person next to me in bed." That's pretty racy stuff for 1954. As I listened to the song, while cracking up laughing, I discovered that I feel the same way. I never thought I'd be single at age 48! Yet the older I get I realize that it is better to be alone than be with the wrong person. Do I get lonely sometimes? Absolutely! Is it tough to come home with a great story and have no one to share it with? Of course it is. But think of the alternative. Coming home to someone who isn't connected with you or cares more about himself, or is simply not interested. I think that's worse and even more lonely. So there, you go a deep thought for my first post. I promise they won't all be like this. I'd like to know what you think.

It may INDEED be better to wake up alone than with the wrong person, but it's ALWAYS better to wake up with your dog licking your face than waking up alone unless your dog has fleas or really bad breath, or you saw the dog licking his butt just before he planted one on you. In any case, I can relate, and I'm TOTALLY with you, Tia. Still, I'd still like a chance to find someone worth waking up next to.
